Band Objectives

The objectives of the Band of the South Australia Police are :-

1. To contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the police service by maintaining, strengthening and expanding lines of communication and public relations between police and the public and provide ceremonial support as required

2. To promote esprit de corps within the South Australian Police and be involved in the promotion of good community relations by undertaking community policing programs developed throughout the State by the South Australia Police.

3. To maintain a World Standard military/concert band, with the ability to devolve into smaller groups to cover a wide range of events, tastes and musical divergence.

4. To promote the Band’s expertise on the World stage, by attending International or Interstate events when invited to perform.

5. To maintain tours to near isolated country centres of South Australia, to enable those citizens to enjoy the music and drill of their State Band.

6. To encourage pre-school to high school children to a better understanding of the police and healthy life styles through music and education and the example of leading sports stars from all major sporting interests.
