Brass Quintet
The Brass Quintet was first formed in 1986 as a civilian ensemble under the name “Festival City Brass”. Several years later the ensemble became the SAPOL Brass Quintet.
A very versatile ensemble able to play in all weather conditions and locations. The quintet have been involved in engagements ranging from unveiling commemorative plaques in regional and urban areas to official openings of Parliament.
The quintet has a vast and diverse range of music – from Bach to the Beatles !
The ensembles versatility and variety of music has put them in great demand for all manner of musical engagements.
The Brass Quintet perform approximately 70 concerts per year, along with the other Band commitments they are involved with.

Paul West – Trumpet
Nigel Davies– French Horn
David Gardiner – Trombone
David Gill – Tuba
2001 saw the Brass Quintet complete a successful tour of South Australia's North visiting remote country centres such as Port Augusta, Parachilna, Andamooka, Marree, Mungeranie and Roxby Downs.
As a result of this Tour, a CD titled "Brass Encounters" was produced and released in 2003.
