Fanfare Team

The Fanfare Team includes fanfare trumpets and trombones, which are much longer than normal trumpets and trombones, with banners that are attached to the instrument displaying the police logo. The Fanfare Team has a long history with the Band and recent highlights include the Queens visit in 1988, 1990 Edinburgh Tattoo, Sensational Adelaide Tattoo in 1995 and the Brisbane International Tattoo in 1996.

The Fanfare Team bring a sense of ceremony to any occasion, heralding the opening to any major event and provide a spectacle of sight and sound. On occasions, the Fanfare Team can include percussion as was the case in 1995, when they played the specially written Fanfare for the opening of the Tattoo, “Sensational Adelaide” which included 4 timpani and cymbals. This Fanfare has since been officially adopted as the State Fanfare for South Australia.
