Travel

Over the past 20 years the Band has had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Australia and Overseas.

As part of the yearly calendar of the band, it performs regular Country tours of South Australia, taking it’s musicians to the remotest parts of the State.

Travelling  interstate has seen the Band perform at the following events...

  • Melbourne for the Moomba Festival

  • Brisbane in 1996 for the Brisbane Military Tattoo

  • Perth Royal Show in 1997

  • Tasmania in 1999 for a Police Tattoo celebrating the 50th year of the Tasmania Police.

  • Canberra in 2006 for the opening of the National Police Memorial

The Band made a spectacular International debut presentation at the 1990 Edinburgh Military Tattoo and London Royal Tournament, performing with the Australian Drill Team, which in turn lead to an invitation to return to London and perform at the 1998 Royal Tournament, which they performed admirably with the Australian All Star Dance Team.

2000 saw the return of the Band to the 50th Anniversary Edinburgh Military Tattoo, accompanied by the Anarungga Aboriginal Dance Company, plus members of the Callisthenics Association of South Australia.  The Band was honoured to be chosen as Australia's representative of the Commonwealth on this occasion.

In 2008 The Band visited the picturesque city of Bremen, Germany, to take part in the Musikschau der Nationen (Music Show of the Nations).  It is an honour for the Band to attend this event, and was the first Australian Band to do so in it's 44 year history.
